WHAT I DID

You were about to ask “What did you do?” So I made you a checklist.

OBJECTIVE

Build a scalable outbound system that could break an emerging sports tech SaaS platform into the enterprise market and demonstrate enough commercial traction to fuel a fundraising round.

CHALLENGE

The platform offered developer tools for building in-app fan communities, a genuinely useful product in a category that didn’t really exist yet. But “genuinely useful” and “easy to sell to enterprise executives” are two very different problems. The company had no outbound infrastructure, no scalable pipeline, and no major logos to reference. Meanwhile, the buyers they needed to reach (VPs and C-suite in sports, gaming, and media) were drowning in cold outreach from every martech vendor on earth. The product also had to prove commercial viability to investors, which meant the pipeline couldn’t just look good on a dashboard. It had to close.

INSIGHT

Enterprise buyers in sports and gaming don’t respond to generic SaaS outreach. They respond to people who understand their business. A VP of Fan Engagement at a betting company and a Head of Product at a sports league have completely different pain points, even though they’d use the same tool. The outbound system had to feel like a conversation with someone who already knew their world, not a sequence that happened to land in their inbox.

OPPORTUNITY

Instead of building one funnel and blasting it at a broad list, build a sector-personalized outbound engine where every touchpoint reflects the target’s specific industry, role, and use case. Pair it with performance ads that reinforce the message across channels, so by the time the email lands, the prospect has already seen the brand in context. Then layer in lead scoring tight enough to surface the deals worth pursuing and let the rest nurture.

SOLUTION

Sector-Personalized Outbound Architecture
Built automated outbound sequences segmented by vertical: sports leagues, gaming companies, media organizations, and sports betting operators. Each sequence was written to mirror the language, priorities, and pain points of that specific sector rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all pitch.

ABM Workflow Integration
Designed account-based marketing workflows that coordinated outbound email, LinkedIn touches, and programmatic ad placements against the same target accounts. Prospects encountered the brand across multiple channels before a human conversation ever started.

Companion Ad Campaigns
Ran performance ads targeting the same executive audience segments, reinforcing the outbound messaging and building familiarity.

Creative was tailored by sector to match the outbound narrative. Lead Scoring and Qualification. Implemented data-driven lead scoring to separate high-intent enterprise prospects from casual interest, ensuring sales bandwidth was focused on the opportunities most likely to convert.

Investor Positioning
Structured the pipeline and reporting to demonstrate commercial traction clearly enough to support the company’s fundraising narrative. The system didn’t just generate leads. It generated proof.

RESULTS

  • Secured a multimillion-dollar partnership with a major sports gambling group
  • Drove investor confidence and a successful fundraising round
  • Validated the platform’s positioning as a next-generation fan engagement tool • Built a repeatable, scalable outbound engine that continued producing after the initial buildout
